I worked with another designer and PM to redesign the dashboard for a Beta launch. We got feedback from the current dashboard to determine the changes that we needed to make, and also used the launch as a means to validate various assumptions.
Dashboards should be scannable and easy to understand. A common complaint with the current dashboard is that it is high in information density and there is no way to customize it. We wanted to create a dashboard that was easy to understand, and also include the extra information it needed.
We had a chance to sit down with the client to determine some of the user needs before we iterated on any more of the ideation. During an hour long session and prior research conducted by the Strategy team, we came up with the above personas.
Here is an initial wireframe for the information architecture. I reasoned that we could split the information into various small metrics to help scale the dashboards, as more metrics are added. Moreover, it would become more digestable and users would be able to understand what each specific metric means by gaining an understanding of the overall picture.
